Deposits

Deposit external cryptocurrency into Unit Network to receive wrapped tokens (e.g., deposit ETH โ†’ receive ETHU).


How Deposits Workโ€‹

1. You select a token (e.g., ETH) and enter the amount
2. System assigns a vault and generates a unique deposit amount
3. You send the exact amount from your external wallet
4. Off-chain workers verify the transaction
5. Wrapped tokens (ETHU) are minted to your Unit Network wallet

Step-by-Step Guideโ€‹

  1. Navigate to Wallet โ†’ Deposit
  2. Select Crypto as the deposit method
  3. Choose the token you want to deposit (e.g., ETH)
  4. Enter the amount in USD value or token quantity
  5. Click Deposit โ€” a deposit request is created
  6. Copy the deposit address and the exact amount
  7. Open your external wallet (e.g., MetaMask) and send the exact amount to the provided address
  8. Wait for verification โ€” status changes from Pending โ†’ Completed
  9. Wrapped tokens appear in your wallet (e.g., ETHU)
Critical
  • Always send the exact amount specified โ€” even small differences can delay verification
  • Use the correct native network (e.g., ERC-20 for ETH, Native SegWit for BTC)
  • Never send tokens via a different network (e.g., don't send BTC via BEP20)

Cancelling a Depositโ€‹

If you haven't sent the crypto yet, you can cancel:

  1. Go to your Deposit History
  2. Find the pending deposit
  3. Click Cancel Deposit
warning

You can only cancel deposits before sending the crypto. Once sent, the deposit will be processed normally.


Behind the Scenesโ€‹

When you deposit, your crypto is received by a vault owner โ€” a user who has locked UNITCOIN as collateral. The vault system provides decentralized custody without any single entity controlling funds.
